How to use the codeword solver

1. Type the word square by square, with spaces: numbers for unknown squares, letters for known ones. For example 12 5 5 E 7.
2. Add the letters you have already placed elsewhere in the grid. They are ruled out for every numbered square, which cuts the list fast.
3. Common words come first. Try the top one, then check the crossing words.

The rules it follows

• The same number is always the same letter.
• Two different numbers are always two different letters.
• A number cannot stand for a letter you have already solved.

Example

1 2 2 3 E gives words like APPLE, GOOSE and MOOSE: the second and third letters match, and the others are all different.
