Word lists

• English: ENABLE word list (public domain). 168,406 words kept.
• French: Grammalecte French lexicon v7.7 by Olivier R., Mozilla Public License 2.0 (grammalecte.net). 407,828 words kept. Our file drops proper nouns, words with hyphens, spaces or apostrophes, and accents, and keeps words of 2 to 15 letters. The modified file is served as plain text at /data/fr.txt under the same licence.
• Dutch: OpenTaal word list, BSD or Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 (opentaal.org). 299,824 words kept, lowercase entries only, accents removed.
• Word frequency (English): 12dicts 2+2+3frq by Alan Beale, used to show common words first. It builds on AGID, copyright 2000 Kevin Atkinson, used under its permission notice, and on WordNet (Princeton University) and the public-domain Moby lexicon.

Filtering

Offensive single words are removed using the LDNOOBW project's "List of Dirty, Naughty, Obscene and Otherwise Bad Words", Creative Commons Attribution 4.0.

Letter values

English and French Scrabble letter values are from Wikipedia's "Scrabble letter distributions" (checked 26 September 2026); the French values also match French Wikipedia. Dutch pages show no points yet, because the sources we checked disagree.
