What I do here
I built every tool on anagrimo: the solver engine that runs in your browser, the pipeline that turns open word lists into the files the tools load, and the pages in six languages. I also wrote the guides, and the scripts that produce every number in them.
What I am not
I am not a tournament player, a linguist or a lexicographer. So the site does not decide which words a game should accept. It names the word list it uses for each language, shows what that list contains, and never calls a word "official" or "valid" in a game. When your game refuses a word we list, your game is right about its own dictionary.
How a figure gets into a guide
- A script counts it from the same word lists the tools use. Nothing is estimated or copied from another site.
- The script writes its results to a data file, and the guide reads the number from that file. No figure in a guide is typed by hand.
- Letter values are shown only when the game publishes them or two sources agree. Where they disagree, points are left out rather than guessed.
- Every guide ends with its method, its word list and the date it was computed, so you can check it.
Corrections
If you find a wrong number, a word that should not be in a list, or a word that is missing, write to hello@anagrimo.com. Corrections are made in the script or the list, then every page is rebuilt.
